    Who We Are

A Local Team, Based Where Your Trip Actually Happens

Kilima Go Trekking is run out of Moshi, the town at the base of Kilimanjaro that most northern-circuit safaris and every Kilimanjaro climb pass through. That's not a marketing detail — it means our guides drive the Serengeti road regularly, know which Machame Camp gets crowded in August, and can tell you honestly whether a 6-day or 7-day Lemosho climb fits your fitness level, because they've walked both.

We started by arranging climbs and day trips for travelers already in Moshi, and grew into full safari, Kilimanjaro, and Zanzibar planning as more people asked us to handle their whole Tanzania trip rather than just one leg of it. We're still a relatively small operation, which means the person who quotes your trip is usually the same person who checks in on it while you're traveling.

We don't run the biggest fleet in Tanzania and we won't pretend to. What we offer is straightforward planning, vehicles and guides we know personally, and answers to your questions that come from people who've actually done the route — not a call center reading from a script.

    How We Work

What Working With a Local Operator Actually Means

Itineraries Built From Routes We've Driven

When we say a transfer takes four hours or a camp has the best crater views, it's because someone on our team has made that drive or pitched a tent there, not because it's copied from a brochure.

One Point of Contact, Start to Finish

The person who builds your quote is reachable by WhatsApp before, during, and after your trip — not a different department for booking versus support.

    Pacing Over Speed on Kilimanjaro

We'd rather recommend an extra acclimatization day than rush a shorter route and risk your summit attempt. It's a harder sell than a cheaper itinerary, but it's the honest one.

Crews and Vehicles We Actually Know

Our drivers, guides, and porters work with us regularly. We're not subcontracting your trip to whoever's available that week.

    What We Plan

Three Trips, Often Combined Into One

    Tanzania Safaris

Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire, and Lake Manyara, from 1-day Ngorongoro trips out of Arusha to longer northern-circuit combinations. Budget camping through to luxury lodges.

    Kilimanjaro Climbs

Marangu, Machame, Lemosho, and Rongai routes from 5 to 8 days. We build acclimatization days into every itinerary rather than treating them as an optional upsell.

    Zanzibar Holidays

A practical close to a safari or climb — Stone Town, spice farms, sandbank trips, and beach time, with accommodation across most budgets.

    Frequently Asked Questions

For July-to-September and December-to-February travel (Tanzania's peak seasons), we recommend booking 2-3 months ahead, since park permits and good camps fill up. Outside peak season, a few weeks' notice is usually enough, though Kilimanjaro climbs benefit from more lead time regardless of season.

Yes, this is one of the most common requests we get, and the logistics genuinely work well together since Kilimanjaro International Airport sits between the safari circuit and Zanzibar flights. A typical combination runs 10-14 days; tell us your total time available and we'll sequence it.

Yes, from Kilimanjaro International Airport for safari and climbing trips, and we can also arrange transfers from Julius Nyerere International in Dar es Salaam or Abeid Amani Karume in Zanzibar depending on your route.

International flights, Tanzania visa fees, travel insurance, tips for guides and porters, and personal expenses are typically separate from package prices. We'll spell out exactly what's included and excluded in your specific quote so there are no surprises.

We'll confirm payment details once your itinerary and price are finalized — message us on WhatsApp or by email and we'll walk you through it directly rather than publishing terms that vary by trip type and season.
